Willing’s Barbados Pepper

This rare colonial bird pepper was introduced into the Delaware Valley from Barbados by the Quaker Willing family and by 1760 botanist John Bartram was growing it. Preserved for posterity by the Moon family of Bucks County, PA. Tall, sprawling 3-foot bushes produce hundreds of tiny red peppers traditionally used whole in pickling, especially cucumbers.
