This crisp, flavorful pre-1870 French heirloom is noted for its olive green leaves flecked with maroon and remarkable winter hardiness – hence the name “Russian salad.” The 14-inch heads are excellent for hot dressings and will survive freezing temperatures with a little straw for protection. Minimum 25 seeds.  Germination 95%.
