This classic short-season bush bean has been an heirloom in the Rhineland-Pfalz and in the Pennsylvania Dutch Country since the late 1800s. Today, this heirloom bean is almost impossible to find in its homeland. Short bushy plants (12 to 14 inches tall), with wide flat stringless pods ideal as snap beans, or as “snipple beans” sliced into shreds then cooked or pickled like sauerkraut. Minimum 25 beans. $4.50. Germination 95%.
