Honduran Guajillo Pepper
Capsicum frutescens
This spicy hot landrace from the jungles of Honduras is quite different from the Mexican Guajillo, although it is used in similar ways, especially dried or even powdered. The 3-inch fruits resemble Tabasco peppers but are both larger and pendant, ripening from white green to yellow, then orange and bright red. The plants develop into showy 3-to-4-foot bushes that can be perennialized in tubs. Since this is a tropical pepper, it requires a long growing season: 120 days or more. Minimum 25 seeds. Germination 96%.
