Green Climbing Melon Cucumis melo 
This rare French heirloom was popular throughout the 1800s.  The fruit is small, ideal for individual servings but can weigh up to 1 ½ pounds. Use it in salads like avocado! Best grown on trellises because it will ripen sooner (about 85 days). If grown on the ground, the ribbed fruits will become oblate rather than elongated as shown in the 1880s woodcut.  Minimum 25 seeds, $4.50. Germination 97%.
