This highly ornamental pepper was created in 1995 by Dr. William Woys Weaver using Fish Pepper as one the breeding parents – hence the showy variegated leaves. Since many Pennsylvania Dutch farmers dubbed Schwaatze Hinkelhatz (Black Chicken Heart), that is now its name! It’s ideal for pot culture, the 1-inch pods ripen from black to deep cranberry red. Hot and sassy! Great for chowchows and mixed pickles. Minimum 25 seeds. Germination98%.
