Atlantic Prize Tomato
Lycopersium Lycopersicon
This heirloom classic was introduced in 1889 by Johnson & Stokes of Philadelphia. The tomato was developed several years earlier by a produce farmer in Atlantic County, New Jersey, hence the name. This is the same round, red tomato introduced by Peter Henderson on New York under the alias Ruby Red. 2 ½ to 3 inches in diameter, this tomato was a great favorite with New Jersey canneries. 25 seeds TOM267.
