Apulia Chicory
Chicorium intybus
Best planted in the fall for overwintering in cold frames since cold weather both tenderizes and sweetens the greens. This distinctive variety (Cicoria Catalogna Pugliese in Italian) has dark green serrated leaves resembling dandelion, and will grow in clusters 12 to 14 inches tall. Grows back quickly when cut. Ideal flavor pairing with fresh green fava beans or even chopped and mixed with pasta. Minimum 50 seeds,  Germination 95%.
