Soup celery or smallage is a biennial potherb used primarily to flavor soups or sauces. Its leaves resemble parsley, but the rich flavor is distinctive.  Our variety is called Amsterdamse donkergroene (Amsterdam Dark Green) in Dutch and dates to the 1700s.  It will overwinter without protection in Zone 6 and warmer.  Harvest it all winter if planted in a cold frame.  Minimum 50 seeds, $4.00.  Germination 98%.
